I gotta tell you, Taylor has a very professional business. I was quite surprised. This was new for me as well. When I commissioned her to do our mural………this is how it happened
1. She measured up, discussed with me my options & talked to me about design.
2. She emailed me a very professional quote & a fantastic mock up.
3. I approved it & paid my deposit.
4. She scheduled everything with me.
5. She applied to Unley Council for a permit. Mapped out the area for them & addressed all their safety requirements.
6. From the first day, she had her 1 square metre & her bright red cones.
7. She had her safety boots on, her high viz shirt & big broad brimmed hat.
8. I can’t count how many people that stopped to talk to her. She was polite & engaging with everyone. She took it in her stride.
9. She kept everything clean & took the time to make sure everything was clean.
10. She has a licence to operate a boom-type elevating platform over & above 11 metres. A yellow card licence to operate a scissor lift & boom under 11 metres. A certificate in working safely at heights. And a bachelor of design!
Taylor has been working on her business for 8 years now. She’s an Adelaide Hills artist known for creating colourful artworks & murals, particularly featuring birds.
Murals including the rapturous chicken, “Nugget”, brightening Glen Osmond’s Tollgate Motel at the bottom of the freeway and the bickering “Plover Lovers”, in Mount Barker, & so many more these are just the beginning for TaylrJay, who is on a mission to bring happiness and colour to Adelaide & the Hills through her art.
& now our very own loved up Cockie that doesn’t have a name yet 🧐
